The threshing units are the separation of the grain through the concave and transferring the straw to the straw walker or separating section. Most crop threshers are tested on the available crops near by the innovators. The axial threshing system of a combine has a better threshing and separation efficiency compare to others; it is also a versatile for most crops. This system was tested also on the stationary threshers and it becomes more effective. The improvement of existing technologies and development of new technology are fascinating engineers also in agricultural machinery, so improvement and innovations in machinery especially appropriate technology for the developing world are expecting by far. In developing countries the threshers are more automated in operation with remote sensing and controlling system which helps the operators work very easy and they are more expensive. So, Engineers has better opportunity to search and design appropriate system for small scale farming and for developing countries. This book review research outputs, some achievements and situation in threshing and separation system.

Geta born in 10/11/1963 at North Wello, Mekete; awarded diploma in Argo-mechanic at Bahirdar Polytechnic Institute, Ethiopia and Msc in Agricultural Mechanization at Nitra Univ. of Agriculture, Slovakia Republic in 1991. He worked as Researcher in Amhara Agri. Research Institute. Now, is a PhD candidate at Addis Ababa Institute of Technology.
