The development of Western Theatre in Iran

The main aim of this book has been to find proper answers to the some questions such as: what was Iranian taste for theatre arts prior to the entry of Western plays? what were the possible reasons for accepting or rejecting Western or non-Persian plays by Iranian audiences? what were the governmental policies for the presentation of Western plays? what was the impact of political, social and economic reasons on increasing or decreasing the audiences of both Persian and Western theatrical presentations?

Nasser Aghai has studied theatre arts in Iran, USA and England, holding Ph.D. degree. So far he has written several books in this field, such as "An Introduction to the Stage Acting" and "Mime". He has been a member of faculty at the University of Tehran since 1987. He teaches directing and acting for the stage, film and radio.
