Details

P. hysterophorus is an invasive alien weed that can be expected to continue its dissemination because of the negligence of not only farmers but also local government to control it. It is growing in farmlands, roadside, grazing lands, wastelands, wetlands and in towns and villages, gardens. It can germinate and produce seeds throughout the year and can cause a serious problem in humans, animals and crop production and biodiversity. As a recommendation we put a priority villages in the District should be identified based on the prediction map of current density distribution of P. hysterophorus to act accordingly and to control further dissemination of P. hysterophorus. Hence, these places are potential sources for the dissemination of the weed into croplands.
