The disuse of hand hygiene in a basic health unit

With the study it is concluded that hand washing is an instrument of extreme importance in the control of preventable hospital infections, which are those in which they may or may not settle in the host, that is, they may not happen if there is an initial control of this infectious event. Correct hand hygiene significantly reduces the transient flora on the hands of healthcare professionals, showing its importance in the control and prevention of hospital-acquired infections. The role of hand washing in the control of hospital-acquired infections is unique and exclusive to prevention. This practice must be adhered to the work routine of health professionals and must be carried out with awareness, responsibility and frequently so that this practice is, in fact, efficient.
