The early days of the child protection system
Details
The wish for economic emergence in Côte d'Ivoire, a West African country, coincides with the emergence of social policies devoted to the most vulnerable people, so as to imagine a promised land, a haven of peace and prosperity without the improvement of the living conditions of women, the elderly and especially children. Indeed, children seem to be the most forgotten in this country with great ambitions. Even if the political will can be seen in the speeches, laws and institutions, an analysis of the facts shows that there are misunderstandings, uncertainties, doubts and shortcomings at all levels of the protection system for children. In other words, the fight against child labour, especially for young girls, comes up against traditional female education, so-called free and compulsory schooling is crumbling in the face of international standards, and the fight against Covid 19 reflects the blindness of the concept of the new Ivorian. This book through three articles, is therefore an examination of what can be considered objectively as the pillars of emergence.
