THE EDUCATION OF PANCASILA

Pancasila is the fundamental philosophy of the Indonesian state, as stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, every Indonesian citizen must study, deepen, appreciate, and practice it in all areas of life. Pancasila was established as the basis of the Republic of Indonesia before it was ratified on August 18, 1945, by PPKI. Its values have existed among the Indonesian people since ancient times, even before the founding of the state, in the form of traditional, cultural, and religious values. These values already existed, were inherent, and were practiced in everyday life as a way of life. Thus, the Pancasila values are essentially the values of the Indonesian nation itself, making the Indonesian nation the material cause of Pancasila.
