The Effect of Optimism on General Health Among Late Adolescents

Do you see the glass half full rather than half empty? If you do, this kind of outlook towards everyday life may be your key to a healthier - and maybe an even longer - life. Optimism, or more specifically, positivity, has been the focus of attention in the world of health. This is a study of Positive Psychology. It is an attempt at understanding when and why late adolescents with this inclination lead a healthier life - both mentally and physically. I believe in a positive perspective, and through this research project, have attempted to show that people with a more optimistic disposition towards life have a lower risk for somatic problems, anxiety issues, sleeping problems, severe depression, and problems with social interactions. A world filled with negativity is desperately in need of a fresh view of life - one that can make a difference. And not just a small one.
