The effectiveness of BBO lessons at lower secondary level

The study shows that educational and career guidance lessons at lower secondary level have a decisive influence on young people's career choices. Pupils who take part in these lessons feel better informed about training paths and consider the content taught to be helpful and sufficient. Practical elements such as company visits and work experience days, which give young people realistic insights into the world of work and strengthen their decision-making skills, are particularly positively emphasized.Quantitative data shows that students with career guidance lessons tend to make more suitable and satisfactory career choices.Overall, the study makes it clear that both the school environment and the private environment have an influence on career choices. Educational and career guidance lessons make an important contribution to career orientation by supporting young people in making reflected and interest-based decisions.
