The empowerment of the Black Movement today

The purpose of this book is to present the trajectory of the empowerment of the Black Movement today, which is the result of struggles, obstacles and social tensions that influence Brazilian education. This is an opportunity to discuss racism, prejudice and racial discrimination in society. Among other issues, the book discusses Law 10.639/2003, which established the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture in the school curriculum, in which it presents structural reflections on the difficulties of implementing the law. The book also highlights the interactions between social movements and education. This is certainly a must-read for teachers, pedagogues, the school community and social agents, whose objective and exemplary language aims to spark debate around education, social movements and ethnic-racial relations.
