The evolution of strategy: from conventional to nuclear power

This book, dedicated to the problem of strategy, takes an in-depth look at this notion over the long term, from Antiquity onwards, and sets out the development and evolution of this concept in parallel with the appearance of new tools of warfare and paradigmatic theories. Armed confrontation has existed since the dawn of time, but a turning point came in 1945 with the initial use of nuclear weapons, and the late 1940s saw the consecration of the theory of nuclear deterrence and the banning of war.

Driss LARAFI ist Professor für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Ibn Tofail (Marokko) und Referent für Militärstrategie. Forscher mit Spezialisierung auf strategische Studien, insbesondere auf Nuklearpolitik. Er ist Autor mehrerer Beiträge zu diesem Thema und affiliiertes Mitglied der Arms Control Association, des IISS und des Social and Media Studies Institute.
