The Financing of Political Parties in the Republic of Benin In all states in the world, "public money is at the heart of the rule of law and democracy. Money can be a divisive tool when it is poorly controlled and can undermine democracy. Regulating the behaviour of political parties through financing mechanisms is necessary, but is not a simple task. It is to this exercise that the Beninese legislator has devoted himself to propose a reform of the party system through a new legal framework. Between the success and perversity of the reform, this study proposes to identify the strengths of the mechanisms proposed by the Beninese legislator, to evaluate their effectiveness and to propose alternatives.
