The Football Economics

The football industry estimated financial transactions around the world, yearly, is about US$ 400 billions and US$ 1 trillion, which represent about 18% and 44%, respectively. The Academic interest in professional teams sports economy originates in the middle of the 1950s, when Rottenberg (1956) analyzed the job market in American baseball. Since then, several books and articles were published about it. This book provides three studies in different aspects of the Football Economics. Talking about competitive balance, financial efficiency among teams and what support football and its revenue and success. The lectors will have a wide range of references in football area for futures researches, besides a wonderful and paradoxal lecture about all the economics theory.

Mr. Benevides holds a bachelor degree in Economics (2013) from the Federal University of Cear. Since then, he started his studies about Football Economics, with a wide range of works published in international congresses and papers. He has been researcher at CNPQ/BRAZIL for 4 years, analyzing the supply chain of football in Brazil and England.
