In Morocco and Korea, these factors intricately shaped courtyard houses, forming a complex interplay of evolutionary forces. While courtyards are acknowledged for moderating hot and arid conditions, socio-cultural conditions in regions rooted in tradition and religious beliefs significantly influence architectural and spatial arrangements.This book explores the characteristics, evolution, and variations of courtyard houses across diverse cultures and seeks to uphold the concept of the courtyard house by delving into its social, cultural, and environmental roles in the past while envisioning its potential in the future built environment.

Dott.ssa Mariame Chahbi, docente e direttrice degli studi presso la Scuola di Architettura dell'UIR. È anche ricercatrice presso il Centro di studi globali. Ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in ingegneria architettonica presso l'Università di Tokyo.
