The governance turn in EU studies

Just like the title suggests, the present paper has as aim the connection which can be established between multi-level governance and Europeanization. This was not an easy task, taking into consideration that researchers were highly reluctant in building such a connection and as such I believe that multilevel governance cannot alone be integrated into the Europeanization research. Nevertheless it is not an impossible task as the present paper will show. Regarding the objectives set by the present paper I can name the following: A first objective would be the defining of multilevel governance, thus including it into the broader discussion around governance. Apart from defining Europeanization, the research has as second objective the defining of the rational choice and sociological institutionalism, which, combined with the third objective, namely building a connection between network and multilevel governance, would allow me to build a conceptual bridge between multilevel governance and Europeanization The last objective would be, consequently, integrating the multi-level governance into the broader discussion of Europeanization
