The Health Literacy Instructional Model

This work is an extension of research on the development of health literacy skills in patients with cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The output of this research has been the Health Literacy Instructional Model. Insights from this research have been used to develop a strategy for building health literacy and self care skills in the healthcare setting. These insights have come from both healthcare professionals and patients.

Patrick Dunn, PhD, é um membro do corpo docente da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Walden. Trabalha também para a Associação Americana do Coração e trabalhou em reabilitação cardíaca como fisiologista do exercício, educador e diretor de programas durante mais de 30 anos.
