The Hidden and Flying dragon
Details
The author contributes to a deeper understanding at the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western thought. Her analysis of the chinese sage who becomes one with heaven and Nietzschean Übermensch who, it is argued, can also be associated with some aspects of Buddhism, can help us to deal with our constantly and rapidly changing environment in a wise and mutally beneficient way. Thus, the work does not limit itself to operating solely within the realm of academia, but also seeks an additional overcoming of the 'theory/praxis' divide. The exploration into the practical applicability of a synthesis of the Nietzschean, ancient chinese, and Buddhist philosophy culminates in the construction of a new idea for personal cultivation that the author calls the 'future sage'.
