The history of SECULT PI

The state of Piauí is very rich in cultural manifestations. As the state is relatively large, with various types of climate, vegetation and relief, it is common to have a variety of cultures depending on the location. The most common manifestations in Piauí are: Bumba-Meu-Boi, Cavalo Piancó, Congada, Samba de Cumbuca, Reisado, mandolins, rabecas, among others. From the north to the south of Piauí, the characteristic culture of the people of Piauí is presented in various ways. Whether in music, dance, theatre or even in the mixtures of these cultural manifestations, our identity is found. In festivals that go beyond the capital Teresina, culture is preserved through the promotion of different types of art and presentations throughout the state, as also occurs in Floriano, Oeiras, Pedro II and Bom Jesus.
