He enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends, often taking on the role of Dungeon Master - crafting worlds and characters for others to explore. These storytelling skills help him create immersive settings and compelling protagonists in his novellas. Dark fantasy is his favorite genre, and he counts Jay Kristoff - author of Nevernight and Empire of the Vampire - among his greatest influences. This love for morally gray heroes and shadowed tales inspired his latest novella, The House that Whispers Ash. When he's not preparing for the next D&D session or reading, Evan relaxes by practicing Haidong Gumdo, the Korean art of swordfighting, in which he holds a black belt.
