Information is one of the most valuable resource that one can lay claim to. Its management is therefore a matter of great concern. The registry, being the point of origination of records in the records life cycle, needs proper management, equipping and staffing. If information is lost or is mishandled, then we cannot have semi-current and non-current records (or archives). This robs organizations and the nation of valuable information necessary for decision-making, thus stalling national development. Samson Mutsagondo, M.B.A, is a provincial archivist at the National Archives of Zimbabwe and based in the Midlands. He also has a background in business administration and education and has also published in the areas of economic history, corporate integrity and marketing.
