The Illusion of Victory
Details
The Illusion of Victory examines the fascinating world of Fascist war propaganda during the Second World War. Based on archival material, it defines the domestic and foreign policy imperatives of the Fascist regime and explains how propaganda was implemented to meet the wartime needs of the state. This book includes an assessment of both the ideological content and technical handling of war propaganda. It offers new insights into the internal structure of the Ministry of Popular Culture, its relationships with the mass media industries, and the effectiveness of propaganda on the Italian public. The Illusion of Victory also defines the central themes utilized during the war and explains the problems faced by Italy as it tried to coordinate its propaganda with its German allies.
