The Impact of Pornography on the Youth in Nairobi

The topic of pornography is a no-go-zone kind of topic and would rather not be mentioned or discussed in public because of the mortifying feelings that are triggered. However, leaving it unaddressed is putting many young lives at stake. More than 50% of the college students who were interviewed in this research had watched pornograhic material by the time they were finishing secondary school. The respondents also generally admitted that watching this material made sex look more casual to them than they had previously perceived it. Amongst the main effects in the male respondents who had warched pornography were that women would begin to look more like sexual objects than dignified human beings. In some cases, this would lead to more harmful extremes such as rape and addiction to sex and pornography also resulting to a lot of time wastage. This book enlightens parents and teachers on the plight of the young people with regards to easy accessibility of such matrerial. Young people are also cautioned on the negative effects of watching pornographic material. The author has also suggested action plans that if enforced by government would restrain this vice a great deal.
