The Impact of Widow and abandoned Women Allowance Programme

The status and situation of women in general in Bangladesh are not satisfactory. Among them the widow and abandoned women conditions are more vulnerable. Government has taken up some programs for rural widow and supportive abandoned women. But, urban widow and abandoned women are ignored in those supportive programs. This study attempted to explore the socio-economic, psychological conditions of the widow and abandoned women in rural areas. In this research it has been studied the impact of widow and abandoned women allowance on the lifestyle of the beneficiaries also to known that, are the allowance being given according the act.
