The implicit content in Vigny

This book discusses implicit content in detail and highlights the use of this linguistic device in Vigny's poetry. In this study, we consider implicit content as a secondary meaning that is part of rhetoric; this implicit content exerts an affective influence on the receiver. And on this subject E. Benveniste makes note that "a speech which tries to move you, can push you to a certain behavior without never advocating it. You have there rhetoric, that is to say a second meaning, different from the literal meaning and acting on the affectivity.we notice, by interpreting the implicit contents, that the verses are transformed into simple propositions. This fact does not affect the value of Vigny's poetry, on the contrary, it shows the originality of this poetry that is characterized by a flexible and suggestive language.Vigny's work appears therefore as an open work, that is to say, a work that presents itself as a message always waiting to be deciphered by the reader who revives it in an original perspective.
