The Importance of Feeding Programs in Primary Schools

This book explains the importance of providing nutritious meals at school as a simple but an effective was to improve School enrollment, attendance and performance as well as help children to break out of poverty. The World Food Program in partnership with the Ministry of Education took a holistic view of solving problems of children who were hungry but needed Education. Primary needs such as food are essential to enhance School enrollment, attendance and performance.

Matipa Mary trained as a Primary School Teacher at Kasama Teacher' Training College from 1991 to 1992. Thereafter, she went to Chalimbana In-Service College where obtained a Diploma in Home Economics. In 2014, she obtained her first degree and in 2017, got a MSc in Food and Nutrition. She has been involved in teaching Home Economics for 20 years.
