The Influence of ISO 9000 on Economic Growth in Malaysia

International Organization for Standards 9000 quality management standards conformity is well known as one of the significant factors in economic growth of developing countries. In this study, the main purpose is to evaluate (I) if there is a relationship between economic growth that is shown by GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and ISO 9000 quality management standards compliance in Malaysia,as the representative of emerging countries,and(II)If foreign direct investments and export of manufactured merchandise can mediate the relationship between ISO 9000 quality management standards and economic growth. In order to fulfill this purpose, the data from 1995 to 2011 was collected from UNCTAD and ISO 9000 online databases and data were analyzed through a mediation regression analysis.
