The Islamic Legal Standing on Suicide Missions in an Armed Conflict
Details
Islamic law establishes battlefield rules which may be systematically undermined by extremist groups. The indiscriminate killing of civilians and combatants, by suicide actions, are combat methods which are contrary to international legal regime stipulations. Perhaps, there are gaps in the Islamic legislations that justify the extremist actions in armed conflicts. Are there contradictions in the Islamic legal provisions on war practices? This work reviews the Islamic legal standing on the suicide mission in armed conflicts between Muslims and against non-Muslims. It also presents the comparative examination of Islamic law of Quital (War & Peace) and the International Humanitarian Laws provisions on war.
