The Ivorian Theatre Review, Reviews, Perspectives

This book brings together the reflections of academics, students, artists, company administrators, and administrative and political officials from the Ivorian Ministry of Culture and Francophonie. It is a set of analyses whose common object is the theatre, a complex genre, rich in its inner and dialectical diversity, but also a unitary genre integrating this diversity that enriches it. Such a singularity makes the book the product of an inventory, of criticisms, of promising perspectives, relative to the history, to the dramaturgical currents, to the policies of training, financing, production and diffusion of theatrical creations in Ivory Coast. All this contributes to the revitalization of the Ivorian dramatic arts through a synergy of actors involved in the theatrical system. These are all elements that make this volume a global reflection on the conditions for the emergence of a real theatrical industry in Côte d'Ivoire.

Er ist Maître de Conférences an der Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny und unterrichtet Theater am Fachbereich für moderne Literatur. Dominique TRAORÉ leitet das A.R.T.S.-Labor.
