The Journey to The Fifth Birth Day, provides researchers with information from practical experiences in conducting researches, particularly community based household surveys. Households are the basic units in the production of health, health developments and development in general. In this book, it is clearly shown that potential health service coverage and health service utilization need to be congruent and researches need to encompass evidences from household and community at grass root level in addition to facility based studies to have holistic picture of the reality.

In conducting household survey research, there should be preliminary "research" on data collectors, guiders/translators and supervisors as well. Prior to my research, I tried to conduct "distant observation and gathering information indirectly" about people who will potentilally be involved in the survey: "Surveying the surveyor."
