Autorentext

Dr. Hammes, is an organizational psychologist with extensive experience in management and human resource consulting. Prior to transitioning to corporate consulting, he was a clinician and manager in the public and private sectors in mental health care.

He founded a national consulting practice working with companies ranging from start-up to Fortune 100 and across a wide range of business and industry. His work included presidents, all levels of management and employees. He retained work and business relationships with many companies for more than twenty years, which is unusual in this business which typically works on a project basis and then moves on. He worked with companies to find the right personnel, develop their capabilities and assist managers with motivating and retaining their employees as well as the techniques to be effective leaders.

Dr. Hammes is a member in the American Psychological Association. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and Northern Illinois University. Doctorate is focused in Learning and Developmental Psychology. He is the author of numerous articles on management, leadership, and employee development. In addition to developing his consulting firm, he has been an adjunct professor for industrial and other psychology courses at several Chicago area community colleges.

His wife, Barbara's, career spanned speech pathology, school principal for the severe and profoundly disabled and assistant superintendent for a special education cooperative. He has two sons, one has a doctorate in English with a focus on transgender literature and the other has a near doctorate and is a therapist.
