The Mechanics of Biological Materials

This book introduces the mechanical principles governing the behaviour of biological materials. The systematic approach is based on one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional biological materials. Essential mathematical tools are developed from first principles and applied to materials like spider silk, blood vessels, and bone.
