A middle-aged woman, bored with her life, decides to try and change things for the better.

An unusual psychological thriller. A woman in her 50's decides to break out of her mundane existence when a strange opportunity presents itself. She grabs the chance with both hands. Where this leads nobody would have foretold. Her midlife crisis will put most women's in the shade and leads us to question how in control we are of our own destiny. It is loosely based on an event that happened to the author and started her thinking. The story that followed wrote itself

Autorentext
Born in Britain, Chris Hummel graduated from Art College, doing a teaching qualification after her degree in order to delay the inevitable world of work. During this she met her Swiss husband who happened to be hanging around Manchester. Shortly after, they upped sticks to London where she taught in Hackney, which was known as 'The teacher's grave'. She survived, but moved on with her husband to Switzerland teaching art and art history for over twenty years in international schools. She took a break in the middle to do a qualification in art therapy at London University during which time she worked in a psychiatric ward at UCH. She currently practices art therapy and teaches art privately. She writes short stories and has had poetry read on BBC radio. This is her first full-length novel.
