A study discussing how the natural world has influenced modern design focusing on the natural shapes and patterns of mineral rocks of the earth. The naturalist Charles Darwin and his adventures on the HMS Beagle, amongst his many findings have inspired design from plants to wildlife. The modern day Designer Professor Richard Western, whom used his love of mineral rocks and turned them in stunning scarf designs. Both have shown how their research and passion have added development to both the natural world and design. Jessica used this topic of interest to help her design a collection of wallpaper and fabrics influenced by natural materials and found her love for mineral rocks and crystals.
