The book analyzes the labor market of the maquiladora export industry in Mexico based on the feminist economics of the labor market, which includes all sources of household supply that define the overall labor of the economy. The objective is to clarify how the gender division of domestic labor creates differences in the labor force and how capital takes advantage of these characteristics to improve the profit level of the maquiladora sector.
