The Nettle Spinner

The Nettle Spinner is an ecofeminist retelling of a Flemish fairytale, exploring plants, women, and other often-overlooked characters as protagonists. This book contains three intertwined parts: a short story, an essay reflecting on ecofeminist weavings, folklore cycles, and narrative mycelia, and The Alchemy, a space for creative exploration, notes, and invitations to engage with storytelling and plant agency. A book for readers ready to imagine, root themselves, and participate in the more-than-human world.This book has three illustrations by Belgian artist Yule Hermans.

Wendy Wuyts (1989) is een milieuwetenschapper, activist, bostherapie gids en blogger. Sinds zomer 2016 schrijft ze blogs voor Mo*Magazine over duurzaamheid en circulaire economie. Daarnaast is ze ook bezig met ecopsychologie en verzamelt ze verhalen van verschillende culturele landschappen. Eind 2019 kwam haar eerste boek uit: 'Als Meubels Konden Spreken'. De afgelopen jaren verdeelde ze haar tijd tussen Japan, Scandinavië en België.
