The purpose of this work is a detailed study of the new means of access to digital information, made possible by the development of new devices which allow the proliferation of new types of interactivity. These are the new faces of interactivity that provide ample access to a wide network of information condensed in the same virtual and physical device and that, at the same time, offer the possibility to add new content in an understandable and plain way. The user has the opportunity to access, create, and intervene actively on information, anytime, anywhere and with minimal technological effort. The work concludes with the analysis and implementation of the project Newsie, developed for iPhone platform. Newsie is a social network for smartphones that allows the user to know in real time what is going on either around him, or in a specific location, given a great diversity of available subjects such as health, restaurants, sports, exhibitions, transport...

C. Oliveira received a Bachelor Degree in LLM (Variante Inglês/Alemão) from FLUP, a Bachelor Degree in Informática de Gestão from Universidade Portucalense do Porto, and the Master degree in Multimedia in 2011 from FEUP. Currently, she develops smartphone applications, web sites and is a Computer Science professional trainer.
