THE NILE RIVER UTILIZATION
Details
The Nile River is one of the longest rivers in the world. Its basin belongs to more than 160 million peoples inhabiting nine riparian states of Africa. It is their natural gift. The Nile River is the common natural resource of these people. However, the river have not been used and utilized properly, commonly and equitably. For long, few riparian have utilized it more than others. A common resource needs common understanding, preservation cultivation, and equitable utilization. Misunderstandings and selfish interests certainly impoverish all the stakeholders. The riparian states have enough experiences of poverty and conflicts. No more is needed. Peaceful and collaborative utilization, preservation and cultivation of the Nile River and it basin is the only wisdom to development and friendly relations of the region and its people.
