Departing from a theoretical introduction that explores major classical and contemporary theories of social movements and transformation, the contributions collected here use a class-based approach to examine key cases of social movements, rebellions, and revolutions worldwide from the turn of the twentieth to the early twenty-first centuries. Berch Berberoglu is Foundation Professor of Sociology and Director of Graduate Studies in Sociology at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. He has written and edited 32 books and many articles. He is the editor of the Palgrave Macmillan book series Social Movements and Transformation.
