The parenting style of adolescent offenders in socio-educational measures
Details
The main objective of this study was to identify the parenting style of each adolescent offender serving a socio-educational measure, as perceived by the adolescents themselves. The study was quantitative and exploratory in nature. The research sample consisted of 24 adolescent offenders of both sexes serving socio-educational measures. Data were collected using a questionnaire and the Young Parental Inventory (YPI). The results obtained made it possible to identify that of the seventeen Initial Maladaptive Schemas assessed through the IPY, eleven of them had high scores, showing that the emotional needs of early childhood were not adequately met. It was concluded that social, economic, educational, psychological and parenting style factors can be both protective factors and risk and/or vulnerability factors.
