The Performance Evaluation of Tax Saving Mutual Fund Schemes

Marian International Institute of Management (MIIM) is a unique initiative of the Catholic Diocese of Kanjirappally. The Diocese has several reputed Educational Institutions with National and International Accreditation. Mutual fund is booming sector now a days and it has lot of scope to generate income and providing return to the investor. The impressive growth of mutual funds in India has attracted the attention of Indian researchers, individuals and institutional investors. The need of the Research work is to evaluate the performance of different mutual funds in India available and keep the mutual fund investors fully aware of it. Thus, there is the need to investigate how efficiently the hard earned money of the investors and scarce resources of the economy are efficiently utilized. Evaluating historical performance of Mutual Funds is important both for investors as well as portfolio managers. It enables an investor to access as to how much return has been generated by the portfolio manager and what risk level has been assumed in generating such returns.
