The phenomenon of spousal violence against women in modern Iran

Spousal violence against women is an urgent social issue, which despite the world cultural and intellectual progress can be seen in almost every country, even in developed democratic ones and among every social group and class. It is also considered a serious and dangerous pathology threatening women's mental and physical health. According to some studies, every one of four women in the world is abused by their husband over the world. One of the consequences of spousal violence against women is the social isolation of women, the manifestations of their unstable and unconfident behavior in social relations. Another negative consequence of violence on women is the feeling of fear, which limits the independence of the married women and makes them seek men's support. In addition, physical violence and severe physical injury and can lead to disability and distortion of a married woman's appearance or limit her daily activities.
