The policy of the great powers in Africa from 1885 to the present day
Details
Since time immemorial, Africa has remained at the center of the interests of international, European and African actors. While it is no longer the focus of struggles between the two blocs, Western and Communist, since the beginning of the 21st century it has been reclassified at the geopolitical level for reasons of security, accessibility to its natural resources, economic marginalization and risks related to regional integration. Traditionally oriented towards Europe, its relations with Asia and China have changed the strategic situation and the zones of influence. The heart of this book is thus the study of Africa as an object and subject of international politics. Oscillating between passivity and dynamism, it is now faced with its real problems which, raising the socio-political stakes and challenges, pose the need for the regional integration of African states. This book is therefore of great interest to students, researchers and professors in international relations policy, law, history of the African continent and even to actors in international organizations.
