This monograph explores the problem of democratization of post-Soviet societies. The author uses various approaches to the subject such as case-study, surveys, comparative analysis, as well as globalization and sociological theories. This book discusses theoretical conception of "no war, no peace society" as a model for the sociological diagnosis of post-Soviet Armenia. It takes a close look at the attitude of Armenian citizens towards the process of European integration, provides a sociological analysis of school education processes in Republic Armenia.

Prof. Dr. Artur Mkrtichyan is the dean of the Faculty of Sociology at Yerevan State University, the author of 3 monographs and 82 articles published in 5 languages. He has worked as a fellow at the Humboldt University in Berlin, the University of Bielefeld (Germany) and the University of Innsbruck (Austria).
