THE PROBLEM OF THE GEOMETRIC METHOD IN SPINOZA

This book examines and discusses the nature and content of the Principles of Demonstration of the First Part of Spinoza's Ethics in relation to Euclid's Elements, whose main purpose consists in pointing out that the Spinozian Principles are distinct and divergent from the Euclidean Principles in some crucial aspects. In this sense, this paper proposes to point out the differences and similarities between the Euclidean Geometric Method and the Spinozian Geometric Method in order to problematize the issue of the presence and the employment of the Geometric Method in the Spinozian Ethics.
