Concrete is the most used material in civil engineering, with the recent need to achieve a concrete of higher strength at the lowest cost possible all around the globe, it is best that one go back to the basics of concrete design and understand how and what makes the concrete stronger in terms of strength. Since the strength of a concrete is derived from the mix design which is intended to achieve a specific strength. The need for high performance concrete is the highest priority of the building industry and that makes it the priority of the researchers in the field of civil engineering. This book, thus provides some materials and their properties and how to use the various properties to obtain the specific amount of material needed in a particular volume of concrete. It also provides a detailed and simple to understand procedure of concrete mix design as well as simple to understand material quantity calculations for obtaining specific quantity of materials in a particular volume of concrete as it is important in producing the strength needed as well as the cost assessment for economic reasons and much more.
