This book brings a completely new dimension into the study of determinants of international trade and foreign direct investment in the Central and Eastern European countries that recently joined the European Union. Jan J. Michäek is the dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw (Poland). He has published several books and many papers on trade policy in the framework of EU and WTO and on various aspects of Poland s integration into the EU. Michä Brzozowski is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw (Poland). His research interest lies primarily in international economics and macroeconomics. Andrzej Cie lik is an associate professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw (Poland). His research focuses on international economics and economic development.
