The Representation of Love in Films with Homosexual Themes

This project deals with the representation of love in films with homosexual themes. Therefore, it will address, in part, the historical context and its importance in understanding this individual. A view that spans from Ancient Greece to the present day, bringing up some relevant concepts, curiosities and personalities along the way. In addition to being based on theories of identity construction. The concept is addressed through the dialogue between Bauman, Foucault, and Freud, who analyse how human beings perceive: the external and internal environment; mundane, interpersonal, intrapersonal, practical, theoretical, and experiential relationships; and psychosomatic, sociological, and philosophical aspects. Finally, there is Gender Theory, where Lopes and Stam present how homosexuals are represented in cinema.
