Cooperatives nowadays are facing a revolutionary trend within the scope of online financing. Emerging as a new alternative to traditional methods of investment, crowdfunding offers a chance to start up new ventures and develop young entrepreneurial ideas. Researchers in the past debated a great deal on the subject of crowdfunding phenomenon, nonetheless cooperative entrepreneurship with its limited number of featuring projects on crowdfunding platforms remains behind with the evidence concerning the advantages to it. Consequently, this report was commissioned to investigate whether the cooperative sector is currently on the rise within the industry of crowdfunding and what advantages and economic implications can be drawn from it. Therefore, for the purpose of the investigation, the following questioning has been addressed: Can cooperatives nowadays benefit from the economic advantages offered by the crowdfunding industry?
