The Rise and Fall of the Muslim Brotherhood sheds light on the popularity of the Brethren's organization, from Sadat's rule up until Morsi's. Fundamentally, the book examines why the Muslim Brotherhood lost much of their popular support in Egypt, despite their mobilization effort. To answer this question, it focuses on how leaders of the organization managed to build and sustain links with potential recruits in order to accomplish their own goals, how the group succeeded to become in charge of the state-apparatus, and finally how the Brethren's mistakes in power had lead to the loss of many of the group's supporters.
