The role of home gardening in household food security

Home Gardening and Food Security Attaining food and nutrition security is one of the Millennium Development Goals. In Kenya, a lot of effort has been put in to securing food for the nation. Yet, at household level, we still find many rural households struggling to afford even a meal per day. One of the resources that these households can utilize is land, which a majority do have. This project provides insights that can help communities, and organizations that desire to support the food insecure households.

I am a graduate of Master of Science in Community Nutrition andDevelopment, Maseno University- Kenya and currently working on my PhD . My work has been largely with rural communities in western Kenya. This book is part of research carried out among them. The book highlights pro-active approaches that can enhance food security among rural people.
