The role of La Francophonie in building a multipolar world

Francophonie, an ambitious undertaking, can play an important role in the construction of a multipolar world, and even beyond that, it can contribute actively to the construction of a more just, more united and more peaceful world. The humanist values that underlie it and guide its action, as well as its geographical and cultural diversity, ensure it a global legitimacy. However, it still has to move up a few steps and reach cruising speed in order to successfully fulfil its mission. Its action for the progress of mankind will be able to enrich the new relational platform of this century, because the world of today needs frameworks of dialogue and understanding like the Francophonie to bring peoples and sensibilities closer together. The international stakes of this century require a necessary evolution of the organizations towards more humanism and solidarity. Globalization, the current stage of the world economy, unfolds its powerful means, wins its markets, realizes its profits; but to the benefit and detriment of whom?
